I hope that I can see
the diversity in all of our children and see all of the influences that make up
who are children and their families are.
That I always ask questions of families and learn about them from a nationality
stand point, an ethnicity view and a cultural view. I want to take the
knowledge that I gain from the families and share it and put it to good use, in
enhancing anti-bias and multicultural education.
A goal for the early
childhood field would be to make seeing our children in all their uniqueness
and have their share who they are. That we would embrace diversity as strength,
that equity become the norm, and social justice become part of our everyday
thoughts.
Thank you to all of my
classmates and to Ms. Kien, this has been an eye opening and heart opening
class. It is not easy to share who we
are with strangers, but this class asked us to do so and we did.
I too think it is good to get to know our families cultural backgrounds and set aside any biases we may have. Anti-bias education should be taught at an early age so that once a child grows up they will have a full understanding of the many diversities in society. I wish you the best in your future courses.
ReplyDeleteCamellia, I really like your goals that you have set up for yourself. I think we all need to have goals the like one you addressed in your blog. Thanks for sharing!
